Some of the problems patient with ulcus cruris venous origin

Abstract

Objective: The main purpose of the present study was to identify problems of patients with diagnosed ulcus cruris venous origin which belongs to chronic open wounds.

Method: For empiric data collection we used questionnaire our own construct. It was content on chosen problems of patient with ulcus cruris venous origin.

Sample: Empirical research was realized in a sample of 100 respondents, who are the patients with diagnosed ulcus cruris venous origin.

Results of empirical research mention the sex and age differences. Patients feels pain whose intensity was changed during bandaging (p = 0,000). Higher percentage of women have problems with presence of chronic wound and wound care bandaging at home environment and higher percentage of men have problems with correct applying of compression therapy. The highest percentage of problems had 70–79 age groups. Older age respondents wrote worsening state of wound (p = 0,030) and younger age respondents restrict presence of wound in working grade (p = 0,029).

Conclusion: Nurse is important member of multidisciplinary team at delivering health care in patients with specific type of chronic open wound. Identification problems of patient, as are pain during bandaging, problems with wound care, application of compression therapy and are related to presence of chronic wound. This is starting point for planning effective interventions as are e.g. education, that would in final outcome the effect on effectiveness care (not only nursing care) about this group of patients and positive effect on quality of life in patients with ulcus cruris venous origin.
