Introduction: Current modern trend of health care leads to acceleration of diagnostic and therapeutic processes. One of the ways of acceleration is using the methods of Point of care testing (hereafter POCT), which have to be used correctly so that they brought valid results of testing. Similarly, as such, they enable appropriate therapeutic processes. The article addresses effective implementation of POCT methods to clinical practice, specifically modern glucometer named ACCU-CHEK Inform. This glucometer was designed specifically for hospital use.

The aim: The aim of research was to evaluate declared way of implementation of glucometer ACCU-CHEK Inform to clinical practice and main determinates of successful use.

Metodhology: Questionnaire´s survey was realized among 194 final users of glucometer ACCU-CHEK Inform at the Faculty Hospital Brno.

Results and Discusion: It was found out that the form of training (choice of instructor and didactic methods of training) significantly influence subjective evaluation of respondents´ knowledge  about using ACCU-CHEK Inform glucometer.

Conclusion: Process of implementation of the new diagnostic and therapeutic procedure has to contain every accessible methods and processes for effective use of the new technology. Mainly, it has to be exact and routine procedure oriented.
